I am a firm believer in the concept of kaizen. Kaizen is Japenese for continuous improvement. In life, cells are in the process of growth or decay. There is no process in-between. If you aren’t striving to make progress, then you are busy regressing.
I had difficulties with self-image and self-esteem growing up overweight in my youth. It wasn’t until my involvement with organized sports, did I realize that my wellbeing was extremely dependent on my physical conditioning. In my mid-20′s, I discovered the interdependence of nutritious food and physical activity and it’s impact on my mental and emotional health as it related to my ongoing battle with diagnosed bipolar depression.
I serve as a certified personal trainer formerly with 24 Hour Fitness and Lifetime Fitness since 2006 (now with Just Fitness 4u). I also studied and attained certification in Hwal Ki Do through an apprenticeship with Dr. Juhee Lim, D.O. at the Oriental Therapy School in Irving, TX. Hwal Ki Do literally means energy rebirth and is a very powerful modality to facilitate personal healing. My training certifications are through Coopers Institute (CPT), NASM (CPT, CES) and I am a graduate of the Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Internship Program.
I hope to help and be helped by everyone!
